"More than Just a Kennel"

"A Vacation of Their Own"

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a safe, healthful and enjoyable time for your special canine, whether short or long term placement is needed. Our standards of excellence truly are your peace of mind. Camp Pak-A-Nap-Sak is an important service provided to pets of discerning owners who have to be away for professional or personal reasons. These canine cabins and homes away from home are nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains along the Delaware River. Our program caters to your canines individual needs and desires.

Why Canine Camp is Special. Each Canine Camper has his/her own individual bunk area with all the amenities of home. Just as when children go to camp, your dog may receive many benefits that are not readily available at home.
We offer extra curricular activities for our campers. Your canine has the opportunity to be taken out (with his camp counselor) for "free running" exercise, retrieving, crisp country walks and even belly rubs and ear scrubs.

Exercise and Retrieving. We have an acre of open area which is fenced where dogs (w/ their counselor) may run free. To exercise the dog, the counselor decides how to best stimulate the dog. Sometimes it's retrieving, sometimes it's getting down and hiding their face, sometimes it's a game of chase. It takes one day for the dog to look forward to and wait to receive his/her own personal exercise time again and again.....

Your dog can have a camp photo too. He can have either a "portrait" or an "activity" photo

Crisp Walking: Is provided individually to meet your dogs needs. Large and "spry" medium dogs are taken by their counselor for a crisp walk in the county. Distance is decided by condition and ability of the dog.

We feel very strongly that getting our campers away from the cabin area increases their mental activity and relieves stress and depression. This is very important for dogs of owners who must travel often and for long periods of time. You know you've made the right decision when you see your dog is as happy to come to camp as he/she is to go home with you.

Health Issues: We will ask you to provide us with the proper understanding to meet your pet's special needs. Physical limitations do not negate activity, we tailor each activity to your pets individual needs. We maintain a veterinarian program with a vet on 24-hour call at all times. We use Cornell Veterinary School if any severe problems occur.

Safe and Secure: We also strongly suggest, but do not mandate, that you allow us to tattoo and register your dog while s/he is in our care. We consider this the most basic security precaution - it allows both of us peace of mind.

Transportation: If you are unable to provide your own transportation, we can pick up your canine at any location within 5 hours driving time of the Walton area, including several airports. The Camp Van is equipped to provide safe individual travel space and is climate controlled regardless of season..

Please feel free to call or email us with any additional questions you may have.
